New series of Geoff Lloyd’s Hometown Glory for Union JACK Radio
Series four of Geoff Lloyd’s Hometown Glory returns to national digital radio station Union JACK next weekend, featuring a range of guests, witty banter and entertaining anecdotes.
The first show in the new series launches at 11am next Saturday, 11 January with Geoff taking actor and national treasure Brian Blessed OBE on a virtual trip down memory lane, recalling his childhood years and visiting old haunts through the use of Google Maps.
During the show, Brian Blessed confesses that he was forced to leave school and start work at 14, as a result of his father being injured in the process of rescuing a number of miners.
Other guests in the new series include actress and writer Helen Lederer, sports broadcaster Jim Rosenthal, stand-up comedian and writer Dane Baptiste, comedian Josie Long and actor Christopher Biggins.
Some standout moments include Christopher Biggins reminiscing about his days being brought up in a caravan and being bathed once a week in a tin bath and Jim Rosenthal setting the record straight about the claim from his son, actor and comedian Tom Rosenthal, that he is an active participant on the Cookham Dean swingers scene!
Speaking of the show on Union JACK Radio, Geoff Lloyd said: “The caliber of guests on this series of Hometown Glory is outstanding. All of them offer up hilarious anecdotes and poignant moments from their upbringing.”
