Pete Price to leave Radio City after four decades
Radio City presenter Pete Price has announced he is losing his phone-in radio show following the news that Bauer is to close Radio City Talk.
Pete shared the news via Twitter on Thursday and has been retweeting reaction to his departure over the last 48 hours, and a new account @Bring_Back_Pete has even been set-up.
He said it’s a very sad day and he’ll write more when he comes to terms with the devastating news.
He’s currently on the schedule to host a Sunday night show, although the programme has not aired since the end of March due to coronavirus. Previously, Pete was on-air five nights a week on Radio City, Magic, and more recently Radio City Talk.
Before joining Radio City in the 80s, Pete worked at BBC Radio Merseyside and is a well-known personality in Liverpool and on Merseyside.
The tweet said: “Very sad day today for me I’m loosing my phone in on @RadioCityTalk. I’ve had the best 40 years ever with the most amazing journey. I will write about this more when I come to terms with this devastating news. Also sad for all my talented colleagues who must feel numb. SAD DAY.”
The City Talk website also lists Steve Hothersall, Mick Coyle, Matt Jones, Jonathan Dean and Simon Greening as presenters on the station.
