Licence extension for Lancashire radio station Ribble FM
Lancashire-based Ribble FM has been granted a five year licence extension from Ofcom to continue broadcasting.
The service, based in Clitheroe, launched in 2016 serving the Ribble Valley area online and on 106.7FM.
Ribble FM Station Manager Lee Roe has also been appointed as a Director and Member of the Community Media Association Council.
Lee told RadioToday: “We have an amazing group of volunteers, who all come together to make this station as good as any national/commercial station, a diverse selection of specialist shows from vintage and classical to soul and dance, and of course our flagship shows Breakfast Time and Home Run.
“The station has changed over the last two years to become a well loved community asset to the folks of the Ribble valley.”
Ribble FM has also recently opened a new community media studio, for locals to record podcasts, vlogs and video with the help of Ribble FM staff and volunteers.
The area has a full podcasting system for up to 6 people at once, green screen and 65” TV for presentations, four camera video recording to allow multi camera shot productions, and full on air links for local bands and artists to play live sets and have them streamed to FM and Youtube.
