New station Radio Southend gets ready to launch

A new local radio station serving Southend is launching on Monday 15th March.

Radio Southend will play music from the 80s to today along with news, weather, travel, entertainment news, interviews, competitions and local events 24 hours a day.

Breakfast will be hosted by Mark Grantham, with Nat Solomans on the Home Run and Greg Martin in the evening.

The station, which is operated by nearby Radio Chelmsford, will be available in the usual online places, says it aims to broadcast on DAB in the future.

Southend was previously home to Southend Radio, which merged programming with Chelmsford Radio and rebranded to Radio Essex.
