UK bags 75 nominations in New York Festivals Radio Awards

The UK is leading the shortlist for this year’s New York Festivals Radio Awards with 75 entries in total.

Shortlisted global broadcasters include the BBC, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, CBS News Radio, NBC News, RTÉ Ireland, Deutsche Welle (DW), Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and Mediacorp.

Nominees in the UK include the BBC, Bauer, Global, Radiocentre, plus a number of independent production houses and stations.

U.Me: The Musical by Magnum Opus Broadcasting has nominations in four categories for its broadcast on BBC World Service, The Skewer, by Unusual Productions, has nominations in three categories, whilst Magic at the Musicals by TBI Media is featured in two.

All Entries in the 2022 competition were judged online by NYF’s Radio Awards Grand Jury of 200+ producers, directors, writers, and other creative media professionals from around the globe and judged on the following set of criteria: production values, creativity, content presentation, direction, writing, achievement of purpose and audience suitability.

Award-winning entries will be announced during the New York Festivals 2022 Storytellers Gala virtual event on April 26th.
