Bauer appoints Pete Black in newly created Director of Music role
Pete Black has been appointed as Director of Music at Bauer Media Audio UK.
In this newly created role Pete will be responsible for music across all of Bauer’s radio brands and audio output.
Bauer says he will be responsible for building strategic and mutually beneficial relationships with labels, managers and artists in the UK and internationally and will lead Bauer’s music teams to create innovative and impactful ideas and playlists.
Pete has worked in music and with radio partners for 20 years, working with world famous acts like the Foo Fighters, Green Day, Chili Peppers and Michael Buble, Calvin Harris, Harry Styles, George Ezra, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Skepta, Rag n Bone Man and breaking new artists such as Joy Crookes, Jorgia Smith, Joja Cat, Tom Grennan and J Hus and brings extensive experience working at major festivals and live events.
He most recently oversaw the strategy and ran the promotions teams for all the joint-venture labels across Sony UK including Black Butter, Ministry of Sound, Relentless and Insanity labels @ Sony Music alongside The Orchard UK distribution business.
Prior to this, he ran Press and Promotions at Columbia Records and headed up radio promotions at Warner Music.
