BBC presenter Gerald Jackson returns with an unforgettable show on Rossendale Radio

Rossendale Radio has hired long-serving BBC local radio presenter Gerald Jackson to host a show on the community station.

Gerald previously hosted “Unforgettable” at the BBC, which ran for three years on Radio Manchester in 2000 and on Radio Lancashire from 2007.

Now, Gerald Jackson’s Unforgettable Favourites will be on each Sunday from 3pm.

Gerald had been with the BBC for over 50 years, and joined Radio Lancashire (Radio Blackburn) in 1968.

He recently retired from his full-time position in Network Station Sound but continued to freelance at the station.

Rossendale Radio wrote on Facebook: ‘We have some news. We welcome a Lancashire legend to the Rossendale Radio family. Gerald has quite a few years experience of broadcasting under his belt, and he is bringing his ‘Unforgettable Favourites’ programme to the Rossendale Valley.”

Gerald has also been a lecturer in Media at Blackburn College and operated the Blackburn Rovers radio station from its launch in 1993 till 2014.
