Radio people gather at the BBC Radio Theatre for a Steve Wright memorial event

The BBC has celebrated the broadcast career of Steve Wright MBE at the BBC Radio Theatre in London.
The private invite-only event featured a full orchestra playing Steve’s iconic theme tune originally created by AJ Productions.
It was hosted by current BBC Radio 2 morning presenter Vernon Kay.
Guests included Tony Blackburn, Pat Sharp, Gary Davis, James O’Brien, Peter Bowes, Louise Hulland and Mike Read.
In addition, singer Kiki Dee, comedian Arthur Smith, Griff Rhys Jones and Ian Hislop also attended, according to social media posts.
We asked for more details about the event but the BBC did not provide any, other than to say the evening will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2 in the future.
