BBC Radio 2 announces special programming to mark Live Aid

BBC Radio 2 is preparing a special broadcast to mark the 40th anniversary of Live Aid.
The station will air Live Aid – The Fans Story on Sunday, 13 July, exactly 40 years since the concert took place.
Hosted by Paul Gambaccini, the programme will feature reflections from key figures such as Bob Geldof and Midge Ure.
The special also includes interviews with prominent performers from the day, including Francis Rossi, Dee C. Lee, Gary Kemp, and Howard Jones.
Radio 2 will explore how fans experienced the event, featuring stories from people who attended the concert and recalling the pre-social media days of physical tickets and memorable moments.
Gary Davies, Michelle Visage and Michael Ball will also share their memories of watching the event from home.
Paul Gambaccini said, “We’re bringing Live Aid back to life 40 years on, with stories from the stage, backstage, and the audience.”
