Alex Duffy to host new breakfast show on Nation Radio

Alex Duffy has been hired by Nation Radio to host breakfast in Yorkshire following his departure from Hits/Viking.

Alex will be on air from 6am on 16th June on 99.8 FM and DAB across East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.

He steps in following the recent closure of Viking FM last year and the end of its local programming last Friday.

Matt Hutchinson, who currently hosts breakfast, will move to mid-mornings, adding more locally based content by Nation.

Helen Nolan, Commercial Director at Nation Radio Yorkshire, said: “Following our recent audience increases, we have been looking at our next phase of growth. We are so pleased to welcome Alex to the Nation team.”

She added that the station continues to focus on music, local news and information, with a stronger offering for advertisers.

In a light-hearted statement, Alex Duffy said: “Waking up this region is such an honour. After ten years I’m glad we’ve turned my full stop into a comma, ready to go once more.”
