David Treasurer named Programme Director for STV’s new radio station

STV has appointed David Treasurer as Programme Director for its new national commercial radio station, launching later this year.

David joins from BBC Scotland, where he has spent the past decade leading Radio Scotland’s creative output and promotional campaigns as Senior Creative (Audio). Before that, he held senior programming roles at Global Radio and Real Radio Scotland.

He brings more than 25 years of experience in shaping sound and content strategies for radio stations across Scotland.

The new station, which is yet to be named, will be based at STV’s headquarters in Glasgow and will broadcast on DAB and online. It will feature a mainstream music format aimed at 35–54-year-old listeners.

David will work alongside Graham Bryce, STV’s Managing Director of Audio, and Bobby Hain, Managing Director of Audience.

Speaking about the appointment, David said: “I’m thrilled to be joining STV and can’t wait to start creating the sound, content strategy and programming for a station that I believe can truly entertain and thrill audiences across Scotland.”

Graham added: “David brings with him a wealth of experience across all aspects of radio programming and production and has led some of the biggest radio stations in Scotland.”

STV announced the launch of the station in May as part of its FastFwd strategy. It forms part of the broadcaster’s new Audience division, which also includes the STV television channel and STV Player. The station is expected to offer advertisers a multi-platform, targeted solution across Scotland.
