Ewen and Cat to launch new STV’s radio station with no name

Ewen Cameron and Cat Harvey are joining STV to host the breakfast show on a radio station we still don’t know the name of.

The duo will front the weekday morning show when the station goes live at some point in the future, with both also taking on weekend programmes.

Ewen will host a dedicated sports show at the weekend, while Cat will present a highlights programme featuring the best bits from the week’s breakfast shows.

The station, which is aimed at 35 to 54-year-olds, will be available on DAB and online, but we still don’t know what it’s going to be called or when it’s launching.

A new studio is currently being built at STV’s Glasgow headquarters.

Ewen and Cat are familiar voices in Scotland, having worked together at Real Radio and across the Bauer network on stations including Clyde, Forth and Northsound. They currently co-host breakfast on Greatest Hits Radio Scotland.

Cat said: “When we were offered the chance to help shape and be part of a brand new commercial station for Scotland with STV, such an iconic brand, we just couldn’t say no.”

She added: “We’re planning to create fresh, fun, inclusive, entertaining radio with plenty of interaction with our listeners, which has always been my favourite part of radio.”

Ewen said: “The opportunity to launch a brand new radio station for Scotland with such a big name as STV was too good and too exciting to turn down.”

Graham Bryce, STV’s MD of Audio, said: “We’re beyond thrilled that Ewen and Cat will host the breakfast show on Scotland’s newest national radio station.”

He confirmed Ewen’s weekend sports show will bring “his wealth of knowledge and passion for football” to the airwaves.

The station will focus on mainstream music, and its full line-up is expected to be revealed before launch.
