James Whale reveals he’s in his last couple of weeks

James Whale spoke live on TalkRadio/TalkTV this weekend to provide an update on his ongoing fight against cancer, saying he’s in his last couple of weeks.

“Talk are being absolutely brilliant,” he said live on-air. “But if you hear a thump during the programme it might be my last breath,” he quipped.

He shared the progress of his treatment and admitted the experience has been tough, describing moments when he felt overwhelmed and broke down in tears.

“I’m heading into the sunset,” he added.

The 74-year-old radio legend said his oncologist told him he probably has only weeks remaining. James has been battling stage four kidney cancer for five years.

Speaking during his show, which he films from home, he said: “Over the 50 years, I have interviewed and chatted to some of the most amazing people. It may have been you. Maybe we’ll catch up for the last time.”

James reflected on how cancer has become a common topic of conversation for many people.

His update has drawn an outpouring of sympathy from fans on social media, with many praising his impact and wishing him peace.
