STV Radio confirms January launch and schedule

STV Radio has confirmed it will officially launch across Scotland on Wednesday 7 January with a full national schedule led by familiar radio voices.
The new station will go live at 8am, marking STV’s move into national radio with a personality-led service available on DAB, STV Player, online and smart speakers.
The launch centres on breakfast, with Ewen Cameron and Cat Harvey hosting the first programme listeners will hear.
Ewen and Cat at Breakfast will anchor weekday mornings, airing from 6am to 10am after launch day, and will include chat, music, competitions, guests and live studio performances.
Cat said the show is about being relaxed and honest, adding that STV Radio feels like “an exciting new platform” to reconnect with listeners. Ewen described being part of the launch as one of the highlights of his career, saying he is looking forward to returning to air with Cat.
The weekday line-up continues with Greigsy from 10am, Webster from 2pm, Evenings with Micky Gavin from 6pm and The Late Show with Jodie McCluskey from 10pm. Fridays follow a similar pattern, with High School Hits with Mike Macdermid from 6pm.
Weekend programming includes Weekend Breakfast with Alan Edwards, Micky Gavin alongside Jane McCarry on Saturdays and Cat Harvey on Sundays, and a live STV Radio Football Show every Saturday afternoon with Ewen Cameron and Ronnie Charters. What’s On Scotland will also expand from television to radio on Sunday afternoons, presented by Emma Cameron and Laura Boyd.
Weather presenter Sean Batty will deliver forecasts across the day, while STV says the station’s music promise will focus on reduced repetition across tracks from the 80s, 90s and 2000s.
Graham Bryce, Managing Director of Audio at STV, said the station reflects Scotland’s regional diversity and aims to deliver “great music, relatable chat and fun” for listeners nationwide.
STV Radio will begin test transmissions this week, ahead of a 1000 Song Countdown starting on Friday 2 January and running through to launch day.
