Russ Williams joins Track Radio for summer

Russ Williams has taken over drive time on Track Radio for the summer while regular presenter Mark Pougatch is away leading ITV’s FIFA World Cup coverage in the United States.

His first show is today, 8th June, on the sports and music station, which launched in May this year. Track Radio broadcasts a mix of sports discussion and music and currently airs on London DAB and online.

Russ’ career has included roles at Virgin Radio, Sky Sports, Absolute Radio and talkSPORT. He is also known for the Sony Award winning Russ & Jono Breakfast Experience.

Speaking about the appointment, Russ said: “Track Radio has already established itself as something genuinely different. The combination of great sport, great music and great conversation is a brilliant formula.”

Track Radio chief executive Iain Macintosh said Williams was “one of the most respected broadcasters in British radio” and said listeners connect with him immediately.

Mark Pougatch will return to the drive time programme on 28 July after his World Cup commitments conclude.
