Siân’s Capital stunt promotes new easyJet deal

Siân Welby left the Capital Breakfast studio mid-show after spotting a last-minute easyJet deal on her phone.

The on-air moment happened during Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark and Siân Welby, with Siân continuing to broadcast from the back of a London black cab via a live mobile link.

The segment was tied to easyJet’s new Drop Everything flights, which are designed to help people browse and book flights leaving within 48 hours.

Siân told listeners she was working until 10am when she saw the new feature on easyJet’s website.

“I love family holidays abroad, and this helps makes even travelling last-minute so easy,” Siân said from the taxi, adding that she had managed to “drop everything”.

She also joked about wanting a last-minute flight and “date with a poolside lounger”, before asking the cab driver for the airport.

Siân Welby exits the Global building in London’s Leicester Square after leaving the Capital Breakfast show early as easyJet launches ‘Drop Everything’ flights to help people find and book a range of last minute trips.

The promotion follows survey findings from easyJet and easyJet holidays which suggest more people are considering last-minute summer breaks, with short-haul European destinations including Spain, Greece, Portugal and Italy named in the release.

Sophie Dekkers, Chief Commercial Officer for easyJet, said the launch was intended to help people find last-minute flights across Europe and beyond.
