Naga Munchetty to host BBC 5 Live Breakfast

Naga Munchetty will become the new co-presenter of BBC Radio 5 Live Breakfast from January 2027.
Naga, who has presented the station’s weekday mid-morning programme since 2021, will move to the the new morning slot five days a week, live from Salford for three days and London for two days a week
She will be joined by a new co-host, who is yet to be announced. Current presenters Rachel Burden and Rick Edwards revealed on air that they will step down from the Breakfast show in December.
Rachel will move to present the weekday mid-morning programme from Monday to Wednesday, after 15 years on the Breakfast show.
Rick will continue to present Fighting Talk on Saturday mornings and remain involved in the station’s output.
Naga said she is looking forward to joining 5 Live Breakfast, describing it as an opportunity that was too good to pass up.
She added that she is excited to start each day with listeners and build on her relationship with the audience.
Rachel said she is excited about launching her new show and reflected on the privilege of being part of listeners’ mornings for so many years. Rick commented that he will miss the audience and team, and joked about the early mornings.
Naga will leave BBC Breakfast TV in December after 12 years as a main presenter. A new BBC Breakfast presenter will be recruited in due course.
