BBC Local to deliver live commentary for every EFL team

BBC Local Radio will provide live commentary for every English Football League team throughout the 2026/27 season.
Listeners will also have access to match analysis, discussions, and interviews in a new programme across all BBC Local Radio stations.
Supporters can follow their chosen club on BBC Sounds, where they will find news, interviews, debates, and features by searching for their team and subscribing for updates.
The network will cover every round of the FA Cup, with all matches also available on BBC Sounds.
In total, BBC Local will deliver more than 5,000 commentaries across the English football pyramid, including the Premier League, EFL, and National League.
A new Total Sport Show, hosted by Charlie Taylor, will launch every Saturday afternoon, offering updates on every goal and an overview of the day’s matches on both BBC Local Radio and BBC Sounds.
Steph Marshall, BBC’s Head of the West and South West, said the aim is to make it easier for audiences to follow the teams that matter most to them, with live commentary for every EFL club and a revamped Total Sport show.
