Wisebuddah creates new sound for DASDING

DASDING has introduced a new Wisebuddah audio identity following the creation of a joint youth radio service in Germany.

The station was restructured in 2026 as a collaboration between Südwestrundfunk, Hessischer Rundfunk and Saarländischer Rundfunk, bringing together the previous DASDING, You FM and UnserDing services.

Wisebuddah was asked to create a sound aimed at adults aged between 20 and 29, supporting the station’s focus on current music, presenters and pop culture.

Elements from the existing DASDING sonic identity have been retained and refined, while new male and female vocals provide variation across the package. German MC vocals have also been included to give the imaging a sound created specifically for the market.

The package was designed for use beyond linear radio, with DASDING’s presence on Instagram, TikTok and other social platforms considered during production.

Wisebuddah Managing Director Phil Tozer said: “This was a special project for us at Wisebuddah, requiring something bold that was representative of three great state broadcasters.”

Benjamin Hien, Head of Sound Design at DASDING, said the organisations had worked together to make the station sound “more modern, more daring, more innovative”.

He added: “Working with three powerful voices gave our new audio identity an extra push forward. We’re already looking forward to what’s next.”

The package can be heard at website, alongside Wisebuddah’s work for BBC Radio 2, Radio 538 and NOVA.
