Whistledown expands with three new Senior Editors
Independent production company Whistledown is expanding into the podcast and commissioned content market by appointing three new Senior Editors.
Kate Holland, editor of Griefcast and previously with Manx Radio, will head up Podcast Production.
Anishka Sharma, a former winner of the Radio Academy’s 30 under 30, will look after the company’s Factual and Arts Documentary briefs.
And Robert Nicholson, who has been responsible for managing the company’s long- standing relationship with Economist Radio, takes on responsibility for Topical Programmes.
“We’ve been expanding to meet the increasing opportunities in audio, combining our work for the BBC and other broadcasters, with exciting new projects for commercial audio platforms and brand partners”, says Managing Director David Prest.
“We’ve always been nurturers of talent, and in this period of rapid expansion, I’m delighted that Kate, Anishka and Robert are taking on such important roles within the company.”
Whistledown currently produces “The Reunion” and “When Greeks Flew Kites” for BBC Radio 4, and “My Perfect Country” and “Over To You” for BBC World Service, as well as regular podcasts for Spotify (“We Need To Talk About”), The Art Fund (“Meet Me At The Museum”) and Glyndebourne Opera.
The company won Indie of the Year at the Audio Production Awards in 2012, 2014 and 2016.
