RadioReverb to celebrate International Women’s Day with live OBs

Brighton’s RadioReverb will be celebrating International Women’s Day and the station’s 13th anniversary with live outside broadcasts this weekend.

On Saturday (7th March), the all-women team of presenters and producers will broadcast from the exhibition of 100 First Women Portraits by photographer Anita Corbin at the Brighton Museum.

It will include interviews with the subjects of the exhibition, and showcase events taking place at the museum on that day, including panel discussions, workshops and performances.

RadioReverb’s Charlotte Petts said: “This is a first for RadioReverb and we’re excited to team up with Brighton Museum for this ground-breaking event. 100 First Women is an innovative exhibition and we’re looking forward to featuring some of the pioneering women included in the work. RadioReverb celebrates the diversity of Brighton and Hove so to be broadcasting live from this event is a great fit.”

International Women’s Day is the first day of live broadcasting this weekend. On Sunday 8th March, the station will broadcast from the Hope and Ruin pub, for a 12-hour “Reverbathon” fundraiser to mark the radio station’s 13th anniversary.

All the money raised during the Reverbathon will go back into the running the station, upgrading equipment and giving opportunities for new shows with local voices.
