Former BBC presenter John Mann joins Brighton’s Regency Radio

Regency Radio has hired Brighton born John Mann as the latest addition to its presenting team.

John’s radio career began in the 1970s on land-based pirate radio and university radio. He spent time working in Canadian radio before joining BBC Radio Brighton and then Southern Sound, where he hosted the weekday drive-time show and a Saturday night soul and funk show.

He then moved to Newcastle for the launch of Great North Radio before taking on roles as station manager and mid-morning presenter for West Sound Radio Dumfries and Galloway. He also worked as a programme consultant and presenter for BBC Northeast and Cumbria.

John’s new Regency Radio show, John Mann’s Treasure Chest, will air every Monday evenings at 7pm.

Speaking about the show, John said: John remarked, “It’s great to be broadcasting across my home patch again after so many years and playing a mix of soul, Motown, rock, reggae, with a few surprises along the way!”
