Robert Robertson to host first STV Radio artist takeover show

Robert Robertson, lead singer of Tide Lines, will present a special show on STV Radio featuring Scottish music.

In Scotland’s Soundtrack, airing from 7pm on Sunday 1st March, Robert will play a mix of new releases, modern favourites and classics from Scottish artists along with requests from listeners.

Robert joined STV Radio’s breakfast presenters, Ewen Cameron and Cat Harvey, for a live performance of Tom Petty’s Free Fallin’ and spoke about the upcoming show. “I’ve never hosted a radio show in my life before, but it sounds like you’ve got some very friendly listeners,” he said.

Tide Lines, from Lochaber, Fort William, Mull and Easter Ross, mark their 10th anniversary this year with a headline show at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro in September.

David Treasurer, STV Radio Programme Director, said the show would celebrate both established Scottish icons and emerging talent.

“No young artist has a better understanding of what it takes to make it big in the Scottish music world than Robert, whose work with Tide Lines has helped propel the band from the Highlands to the Hydro,” he added.

Scotland’s Soundtrack marks STV Radio’s first artist takeover, with Robert Robertson curating selections across rock, folk, pop and traditional music.
