Craven small-scale DAB digital radio multiplex launches

The small-scale DAB+ multiplex covering Craven, Wharfedale and the Worth Valley has launched with two brands on board.
Drystone Radio, which owns 90% of the mux, is now broadcasting in DAB+ in addition to its two FM frequencies, whilst Sunrise, which holds the remaining shares, has launched Sunrise Radio and Sunrise Gold.
The owner says it will encourage a wide mix of broadcasters to join the platform in the future.
David Adams, owner of Drystone Radio, said: “Becoming the DAB+ licence holder for our key broadcast areas allows us to future-proof our service and reach new audiences.”
Nick Hancock, who was previously with YO1 Radio and Your Harrogate, is now lunchtime host on the station and said: “For the last 6 months we’ve led up to this point by putting together a consistent & confident daytime line up with a focus on the right music mix combined with local news & event information whilst embracing involvement from the local population.”
Drystone Radio launched in 2008 and has recently extended its reach via DAB in West Yorkshire and East Lancashire.
