Radio Dead ends as Steve Penk closes radio stations

Broadcaster Steve Penk has closed down two of his own radio stations after they became unsustainable.

The Music Channel and Radio Dead have been operating for four years but now Steve says after paying for them out of his own pocket, they are becoming too much money to continue running.

He tweeted: “I feel very sad today that I’ve had to close them down, but they both cost money to run and after 4 years of paying for them out of my own pocket, it’s just become unsustainable. I tried.

“Thank you if you ever listened. X.”

The Music Channel was Steve’s choice of music via an online stream and launched in 2015, whilst Radio Dead played only music from artists who have died, and was available on DAB in Manchester.

Steve’s only other radio station, The Wind-Up Channel, continues till the end of the month.
