Emma and Dean lined up for Gaydio Breakfast

Emma Goswell has returned to the Gaydio breakfast show with Dean McCullough having previously hosted it for six years with Chris Holiday.

Emma was partnered with Dean after Chris left and the pair have presented the drive time show for the past two years.

Former breakfast show presenters Jessie Brooke and Matt Crabb are staying with the station hosting a Saturday evening mix-show and a network drive time show respectively.

Toby Whitehouse, Station Director told RadioToday: “Right now, I think we could all do with an extra shot in our coffee to start the mornings, which is exactly what Emma & Dean will bring to Gaydio Breakfast. I know listeners will enjoy waking up and locking-down with them.

“We’re hearing from listeners all the time about how important Gaydio is to them at the moment. Online listening is significantly higher, with daily reach up as much as 22%. People are also listening longer, with hours up around 33%.”

Dean says: “I love our listeners at Gaydio, they are all so unique and right now they just need some company, we all do. When I started at Gaydio two years ago I didn’t think for one second I would have to step up to the mark during a global pandemic but I’m ready for the challenge. Expect plenty of craic, a bit of escapism and next-level music!’

Emma adds: “Its strange times for us all and I for one didn’t expect to be setting my alarm again for 5am! Dean and I are really passionate about LGBT+ stories, connecting with people and having a good old chinwag over a cuppa. We hope our listenership continues to grow as we wake up Gay UK like only Gaydio knows how, with good music, amazing guests and plenty of fun!”

The new show started this morning, 6th April.
