Richard Spurr leaves LBC overnight show after four years

Richard Spurr has stepped down from LBC’s 1am to 4am programme, with James Max being returning the station.

Richard has been presenting the overnight show for around four years and confirmed his departure from the programme after his final broadcast.

He said he was looking forward to a break from setting his alarm, but made clear that he would remain part of LBC.

Speaking after his final show, the former BBC presenter said: “After almost four years, I’m stepping down from LBC overnights and very much looking forward to not having to set my alarm for a while!”

He also told listeners how much he had enjoyed spending time with them and confirmed he would still be part of the LBC family. No further details of his future involvement with the station were given.

LBC Managing Editor Sophie Berman thanked Richard for his contribution, referring to the major news stories covered during his time presenting the overnight programme.

Sophie said: “We’d all like to thank Richard for his contribution to LBC over the years. He’s been at the helm on overnights during a dramatic period full of major stories and we will miss him.”

She also confirmed that LBC was looking forward to welcoming James Max back to the station.
