Weekend changes at Smooth Radio as Kirsty Gallacher joins

A new weekend schedule at Smooth Radio sees Kirsty Gallacher and Simon Clarke hosting weekend shows on a permanent basis.

Kirsty, who has been covering shows recently at the Global brand, will be on-air from 1pm to 4pm starting this Saturday.

The ex-Sky Sports presenter also recently joined GB News to co-host the breakfast programme.

Former Wave 105 and BBC Radio Solent presenter Simon Clarke, who has also been covering shows, will host Saturday and Sunday 1am to 6am.

In other changes, Tina Hobley will present a new Sunday afternoon show 1pm to 4pm, while Paul Phear will host The Smooth Sanctuary at Seven, as well as continuing to host his weekday afternoon programme 1pm to 4pm.

Kirsty Gallacher said: “I’m so excited to be joining my favourite radio station, Smooth Radio. I’ve been a listener and a fan for a very long time and I can’t wait to kick start the weekend with a Saturday afternoon show that is good for the soul!”

Sally Ardis, Smooth Radio’s managing editor, said: “Kirsty Gallacher is a hugely talented and popular broadcaster, who shares our passion for the music we play at Smooth. Coupled with her fun personality, she is the perfect addition to our line-up.
