Absolute Radio plans live 24 hour Jukebox for charity

Absolute Radio’s Andy Bush and Richie Firth are to host a live 24-hour Jukebox in support of Teenage Cancer Trust.

From 10am on Thursday 30th September the Hometime presenters will hand over the station to its listeners, allowing them to take control of the music and choose their favourite tracks.

The marathon show will also feature the stories of young people and their families who’ve benefitted from the charity’s amazing work.

Alongside the non-stop Jukebox, Bush and Richie will be joined across the 24 hours by a host of celebrity guests including Tom Grennan, John Bishop, Jimmy Carr and Joe Wicks.

There will also be exclusive live musical performances from The Vaccines and Manic Street Preachers, as the team go against the clock to raise as much money as possible for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

“We are really excited to be hosting an Absolute Radio first with the 24-hour Jukebox” said Bush and Richie. “Our listeners have the best taste in music, and we’re looking forward to being able to play a ton of songs that will make our music team angry.

“We’re also going to have a few surprises over the 24 hours with special guests and world-famous artists joining us, and whilst having fun we hope to raise as much money as possible for such a cause that is very close to the Absolute Radio family’s heart.”

Absolute Radio Content Director Paul Sylvester said “The Teenage Cancer Trust is a charity which resonates with our team and our listeners so it’s great to be able to show them our support.

“Our listeners are a generous bunch with impeccable music taste so we’re confident of being able to raise loads of money. Plus, this was Bush and Richie’s idea so really, they’ve only got themselves to blame.”

The 24 hour Jukebox goes live on Absolute Radio from 10am on Thursday 30th September.
