Former BBC Radio Solent presenter Alex Dyke joins Wave 105

Alex Dyke is heading back to commercial radio and joining the team at Wave 105.

He’ll be covering shows in the coming weeks and months as some of the regular hosts take holidays.

Alex recently left BBC Radio Solent as a result of the BBC’s Digital First plan which made dozens of experienced and much-loved radio presenters redundant in favour of adding more local news articles on the BBC website.

Sharing the news on social media, Alex said: “I’m delighted to announce – I’m joining some old friends at the South’s biggest & most successful radio station Wave 105. I’ll be helping the team out & standing in for some of the guys when they some take holiday.

“It’s truly a great team at Wave 105.”

Before joining the BBC in 2010, Alex worked at commercial radio in the area including Isle of Wight Radio.
