Central FM presenter plans 45-hour charity broadcast

Central FM presenter Brad Yule is preparing to broadcast live for 45 hours non-stop to raise money for Strathcarron Hospice.

The special event, called Brad’s Big Broadcast, will run from 1pm on Thursday 2 April until 10am on Saturday 4 April, marking the hospice’s 45th anniversary.

Brad, who hosts the station’s Breakfast Show and is Head of Content, will remain live on air throughout the entire challenge, while continuing to broadcast across the Forth Valley and surrounding communities.

During the marathon broadcast he will be joined by fellow Central FM presenters during their usual programme slots, alongside special guests including local people with connections to the hospice. Performances from musicians and community acts are also planned.

Brad said: “I am incredibly excited and nervous at the same time to be embarking on this mammoth broadcast. However, it’s for such a great local cause – I feel you’re never too far away from someone who Strathcarron has supported.”

Listeners will also hear the programme from locations across the region, as Brad travels around the Forth Valley while remaining live on air.

The fundraiser aims to support Strathcarron Hospice, which provides specialist care for people living with life-limiting conditions and support for families across the area.

Claire Kennedy from Strathcarron Hospice said: “We are blown away by the incredible challenge Brad has set himself. What an effort to put in to raise funds and awareness for Strathcarron Hospice.”

Listeners will be able to donate during the broadcast by texting BRAD to 70560.
