Erewash Sound superheroes raise money for charity

A group of presenters dressed as superheroes to take on a fundraising assault course challenge has raised over £300.

Erewash Sound presenters Claire Smiley, Jeannie Nicolas and Lucy Brierley dressed as Wonder Woman whilst Anjelica Dabbs took part as the radio station’s own superhero to take on KAPOW! at Markeaton Park in Derby on September 1st 2019.

Hundreds of participants tackled the challenge at the city park to raise funds for Risley based Treetops Hospice with the KAPOW! course presenting 10 giant inflatable obstacles across a 5km course, designed to be taken at running, jogging or walking pace.

Inflatables included the Stairs of Doom, The Alternator, the Holy Cow Maze, The Mangle and The Foam Splat.

After embarking on their initial fundraising drive and then tackling the course with her fellow superhero presenters, Clare Smiley said: “I’m happy to report that I have finished collecting and adding up our sponsor money. Our team ‘Erewash Sound’ managed to raise £324 in total for Treetops Hospice Care!

“Thank you to all of our sponsors for helping us to raise money for this very worthwhile cause.”
